3D platformer sequel for one of gaming's most iconic IPs

Pac-Man World 2 is a 3D platformer sequel to Pac-Man World, following Pac-Man through six themed worlds to defeat ghosts who have stolen the golden fruit from Pac-Land's Spirit Tree. The game expanded on the original's mechanics with new moves, more varied level design, and a wider range of environments.

As Producer and Lead Designer at Namco Hometek, I led both the creative and production side of the title – one of several Namco IP projects I worked on during this period.

Design contributions

  • Level and world design Led level design across the title – designing the environments, hazard sets, and progression structure that took players through Pac-Man World 2's six themed worlds. Platformer level design within a legacy IP requires honoring the feel of the franchise while finding enough novelty to justify a sequel.
  • Core gameplay systems Directed the design of Pac-Man's expanded move set and the systems that supported it – ensuring new mechanics felt like genuine additions to the character rather than features in search of a purpose.
  • Production leadership Led production across a multi-platform release – managing the design team, coordinating with engineering and art, and delivering the title across PS2, GameCube, Xbox, and GBA.
